FFXIV: How to Upgrade Bozjan Armor (2024)

Powerful augmented armor can make Final Fantasy XIV'sBozjan Southern Front much easier. These gear pieces include a new sub-stat in the form of "Haste," which will greatly decrease weapon skill and spell casting times. This stacks with the existing Skill Speed and Spell Speed scores and, best yet, doesn't occupy the materia slots for those stats.

While upgraded Bozjan armor helps inside related zones - including the Bozjan Southern Front, Delubrum Reginae, and Zadnor - it will actually be weaker than the strongest FFXIV Shadowbringers equipment when in other locations. However, obtaining and powering up the armor also makes for excellent glamour fashion. The later sets emulate the styles of key characters from Final Fantasy XII: Basch fon Ronsenburg, Larsa Solidor, Judge Gabranth, and others.

There are multiple steps to enhancing the armor fully. Casual players will easily be able to do the first part, which can be done inside the Bozjan Southern Front and its mini-raid Castrum Lacus Litore. The second phase requires beating Delubrum Reginae Savage, which may require a very organized and dedicated Free Company or Link Shell.

Bozjan Resistance Armor in Final Fantasy XIV

To start collecting the base Resistance armor, players will need to beat Castrum Lacus Litore at least once. While this raid was originally designed for 48 people, it can be beaten with as little as a full party, thanks to the Echo buff. But, first, each person should prepare themselves with essence potions and helpful lost actions.

Bozjan Armor

Within Castrum Lacus Litore, players will earn 70 Bozjan Coins every time they complete the raid. Another 30 coins can also be gained by rescuing all prisoners before the boss fight with Adrammelech - five per each person saved. Additionally, all Bozjan FATEs will also yield one coin. Players who have unwanted Field Notes can also trade them to the Resistance Historian for three coins each. Once Bozjan Coins are held, they can be traded to Resistance Suppliers for the following items:

• Helm, Gloves, or Boots: 14 Coins
• Chest or Pants: 28 Coins
• Helm, Gloves, or Boots Upgrades: 500 Coins
• Chest or Pants Upgrades: 999 Coins

In total, players will need to collect 3,596 coins per role set. That comes to 25,172 coins if one wants to complete everything for each FFXIV gear type of Fending, Maiming, Striking, Scouting, Aiming, Casting, and Healing. To make things go a bit faster, upgrades will sometimes drop from all three bosses within Castrum Lacus Litore. This makes it worth completing the raid multiple times if the goal is powerful armor.

Law's Order Armor

The second upgrade phase is to gain Law's Order judge type armor. These are gained with Bozjan Gold Coins that may drop randomly within Delubrum Reginae. The weekly quest One Man's Relic from Annes will also grant three coins for clearing the same raid. The other option is to trade in Bozjan Silver Coins at a rate of 100 Silver to one Gold. 20 Silver Coins drop from every run of Delubrum Reginae, and the Resistance Historian will trade five for every Field Note found within the raid. The specific Resistance Supplier in Gangos will sell the following:

• Helm, Gloves, or Boots: 2 Gold Coins
• Chest or Pants: 3 Gold Coins
• One Gold Coin: 100 Silver Coins
• Upgrade Items: 10 Plates

Plates are another reward, and they are dropped in Delubrum Reginae Savage this time. Each boss will grant a different type of equipment plate, with all five slots grantedfor clearing the whole raid. This, in turn, means clearing Savage 10 times to upgrade a complete set. Like Resistance upgrades, the Law's Order upgrades will also rarely directly drop from bosses, making it possible to get the gear faster. Finally, one can complete the enhancement process with a fully Augmented Bozjan armor piece, a standard Law's Order of the same type, and the upgrade item.

Blades Equipment in Final Fantasy XIV

While having Haste is extremely helpful, the whole armor Augmentation can take some time to acquire. To get things started, one option players can get are the achievement rewardsand armor dropsfoundwithin Zadnor. These are weaker than the complete Law's Order armor but are much easier to obtain.

Bozjan Earring

The Bozjan Earring provides another flat +3 Haste and can be used by every job. It is earned by simply appraising 1,000 Forgotten Fragments from the Bozjan content. Simply leveling up thecharacter will likely snag several hundred fragments. Morecan be bought from the Market Boardto speed up the process as typically weaker actions like Bubble, and normal essences will be cheap. Note that as this is related to achievements, players will need to exit Bozjan to collect the item. If possible, appraise fragments in Gangos rather than the Bozjan Southern Front or Zadnor.

Platinum Blade's Armor

The final armor type is Blade's. These actually wind up lacking Haste but have a higher item level making them better than even rewards found inside normal Eden Raids or the Nier crossover fights. To buy them, players will need Bozjan Platinum Coins. Five coins will drop for clearing the Dalriada. There is also a weekly quest named 'A Ruined Opportunity' that players can get from Merlzirn, giving nine coins after beating both Castrum Lacus Litore and Dalriada before the weekly resets on Tuesdays. Last, 40 to 60 Bozjan Mythril Coins can be gained from the Dalriada and five coins for each Dalriada Field Notes. 100 Mythril can be traded for a single Platinum. The Zadnor Supplier will sell the following:

• Helm, Gloves, or Boots: 6 Platinum Coins
• Chest or Pants: 9 Platinum Coins
• One Platinum Coin: 100 Mythril Coins
• Early to Raise Hair Cut: 30 Platinum and 5 Gold Coins

The cost for a single role set will total 32 Platinum Coins, or 224 for all armor pieces. However, this is the only merchant that will also sell a cosmetic item. Players will need to decide if the gear or new hairdo is more important. One can also sell this on the Market Board for easy extra Gil. Still, by completing the weekly quest consistently, gaining the coins needed for everything will just take a bit of perseverance.
