I thought that the Lion '68 deserved its own thread.
I've recently bought the OX Stomp in my quest to achieve a good quite line level Marshall sound for composing and pre-production.
Then the Lion '68 was released...
Over the years I have bought and tried all sorts of digital Marshalls (including the UADs), but I have never found anything that works for me, who has been playing vintage Marshalls most of my life, but there is one demo of the Lion '68 which makes me interested and that's Session's demo of the Lion '68 . I just clicked on the link and I didn't realize that it was in German, but the demo was really really good even though I don't understand German that well. The playing and the demo spoke for itself and I will probably need to order one to find out if it's as good as it seems. I am impressed by its "umpfh" and that it seems to respond very Marshall like and for me the way an amp (and cab) responds to my playing is more important than anything else.
I have a couple of questions:
1. It's stereo. Does that mean that I can use two guitars with it that will be panned hard left/right? Will it dynamically respond like two amps or will it respond the same way on both channels even when the two guitars are playing slightly different (or completely different)? In short will the Lion '68 act like two separate amps with identical settings or will the two channels affect each other like for example a linked compressor does.
2. would it be complicated to jump between the Lion '68 and the OX Stomp in the UAFX app? I suppose that you can only pair one at the time.
3. What does the Ghost note setting do?
4. Will the bright cap switch affect all the three amp models? And what does it switch between.
5. Is it possible to bypass the amp to use it as a simplified version of the OX Stomp?

2. Yes you can only access one pedal at a time via app. Switching between pedals in the app is okay (some might say its a pita). It definitely takes longer than one would like it to (some seconds). It definitely takes too long for live use (i.e. switching presets via app, which isn‘t really limiting for OX stomp cause you can access without app up to 4 rigs via footswitches or up to 6 via the rig selector knob).
5. bypassing the amp is not possible because UA wants you to buy an OX product for access to their speaker/mic emulation.

Thanks. It's not a deal breaker for me. The OX Stomp depends very much on the app when editing, but it seems like Lion '68 has most of what you normally use on the pedal itself.

Lion is incredible.
Stereo is for the room and preserving stereo FX chains.
All answers to your questions are in the manual:

“The playing and the demo spoke for itself and I will probably need to order one to find out if it's as good as it seems.”
As an experienced vintage Marshall amp user, be sure to report back after you’ve rocked with the Lion. Love to hear your thoughts.

I am curious if it will have more headroom than the Dream 65. I always feel like I need a little more clean headroom out of the Dream. Has anyone had a chance to compare that aspect of the 2?

My Lion arrives on Wednesday from Sweetwater.
I will post some feedback here after taking it on the rock n roll highway

Yes, please let us know the results of your headroom comparison. My Lion won't arrive until the end of November.

first impressions:
clean sounds aren’t as clean as I was hoping. (maybe cleans will sound better after more knob twisting...)
gain sounds are very good! the feeling and tones are right on! can’t wait to see the guys faces at practice on friday when I kick this thing on!
