The New York State Department ofCorrections and Community Supervision has an inmate locator tool on its websitewhere you can easily find someone in prison. You can search using the inmate’sname, or DIN, or NYSID. If you search by name, you can narrow the results byadding in a birth date.
The results will show a listwith inmates’ DIN, name, gender, birthdate, status, facility, and race. You canclick on the DIN to get additional information. The extra details will showwhere they are currently held, the county where they were indicted, and theirparole or probation date. You may also see the inmate’s crimes, sentencing, andother dates.
