If you own a Traeger smoker, you already know that nothing tastes better than food cooked over wood smoke. But what do you do if your Traeger keeps turning off in the middle of grilling? This is a common problem. When your smoker stops working, it’s annoying, but there are a few things you can try to fix it. When the Traeger grill is set to 225 degrees, it turns off by itself. On the other hand, sometimes your Traeger will just not turn on. To fix this, turn off your smoker and then turn it back on again. After that, everything works just fine. But the problem keeps going on, and your Traeger keeps shutting off. Message of error Some things, like LEr, a broken controller, a tripped outlet, or a problem with the hot rod, can cause the Traeger grill to turn off while cooking when it shouldn’t.
First, turn off your Traeger Smoker and pull the plug. Take out the cooking grate, drip pan, and heat baffle from the fire pot. If there is nothing in the firepot, add fuel. If there are too many pellets in your firepot, take some out. Second, you should look at the RTD or thermocouple. RTDs that are broken or bent could cause problems. Check to see if the thermocouple shows the temperature of the grill. Change if not. Wind is hard on the small Traeger grill. To fix this, move your Traeger to a place without wind. Put wood pellets that make sparks in the firepot. Change the P setting if the temperature is low.
If your Traeger won’t turn on or shuts off suddenly while you’re grilling, it’s probably because of a power problem. There is a chance that the wire that brings power to your grill or smoker will be broken. If that’s the case, your Traeger won’t get any power at all.
Check that the grill’s power cord is in good shape and that it is fully plugged in. Never use an extension cable; instead, plug the power supply straight into the wall.
Your Traeger won’t turn on because the outlet you plugged it into has been tripped and isn’t giving it power. As soon as you reset the breaker, you’ll know for sure whether the outlet has been tripped or not. If you push the center button and it pops out, you know the outlet has been turned off.
Just replace the GFI outlet or the circuit box to fix the problem. Get in touch with a licensed electrician for help if you don’t think you know enough about electricity.

Your Traeger might not turn on because the firepot has too many wood pellets. Some of the problem might go away if you just clean the firepot. If your Traeger still won’t light after you’ve cleaned the firepot, there may be something else wrong. Your Traeger might not turn on if, for example, the GFCI on the outlet has been set off.
Cooking in very cold weather will put a smoker’s ability to keep the air at the right temperature for smoking to the test. Putting an insulating blanket around your grill should fix the problem.
Keeping your smoker’s temperature even is easier if there is enough ventilation, which you can do by keeping the vent open. If, on the other hand, the fire gets too hot, you can just close the vent.
