Introduced in update 0.7.2, Cappella Magna is the fifth normal stage added to Vampire Survivors and though the game's developer Poncle has stated that this is only the first iteration of this stage, it already contains quite a few surprises.

This Vampire Survivors guide will provide instructions on how to unlock Cappella Magna and it'll discuss the many elements that newcomers to the stage should be aware of before jumping in.

How to Unlock Cappella Magna

Cappella Magna can be unlocked by completing the Lunar Eclipse event and collecting the Yellow Sign Relic. The Lunar Eclipse event begins the first time you successfully complete the Moongolow bonus stage by surviving until the 15-minute mark. As the clock ticks past the 15-minute mark, Moongolow will become increasingly red and distorted and you'll get teleported to the hidden stage, Holy Forbidden. The Yellow Sign can then be collected by completing Holy Forbidden.

If you completed the Lunar Eclipse event prior to the 0.7.2 update, Cappella Magna should already be available on your Stage Selection screen.

What to Expect on Cappella Magna

Cappella Magna is one of the most unique normal stages because it's jam-packed with four different Death variants, a special boss known as the Trinacria, and a coffin housing Zi 'Assunta. In addition to these exciting elements that we'll discuss a bit later, Cappella Magna houses the following items:

  • Gold Ring and Silver Ring
  • Metaglio Left and Metaglio Right
  • Duplicator
  • Crown
  • Tiragisú
  • 3x Rosary

The three Rosaries present on Cappella Magna are arranged in a vertical line directly underneath your spawn point and although they're not marked by arrows they can be seen on your pause menu map. Though you may be tempted to use the Rosaries immediately, you should consider saving them to take out some of the various bosses we'll discuss below.

Zi 'Assunta's Coffin

Zi 'Assunta is one of Vampire Survivors' newest characters and they can be unlocked by finding and opening the coffin located on Cappella Magna. Because finding the Yellow Sign is required to unlock Cappella Magna, finding the coffin should be pretty simple since you'll have a map and an arrow guiding you to its location. When you arrive at Zi 'Assunta's coffin you'll need to eliminate the ring of guards protecting it and once they've been vanquished you can walk over to the coffin and pop it open.

Orange Death

Orange Death spawns at the start of your run and they transform into the contraption seen in the image above. Orange Death is unlike the rest of the Death variants because they are not invulnerable to any of your attacks. So while you can use a Rosary or the Pentagram to take them out you can also just spam them with projectiles. Once Orange Death has been defeated the sky surrounding Cappella Magna will go from red to blue, though at this time, this change doesn't seem to affect your gameplay or your enemies.

If Orange Death and its transformation look familiar it's because they're one of the two bosses in Holy Forbidden.

The Drowner

The Drowner is a blue Death variant that'll spawn on Cappella Magna at the 5-minute mark and they can control rising waters that inflict 20 damage per tick. While the Drowners present on Gallo Tower and The Bone Zone can only be defeated by Rosaries or the Gorgeous Moon weapon, the Cappella Magna Drowner seems to be a bit weaker since they're the only Drowner that can be killed with the Pentagram but it'll require some luck.

If the Pentagram fires and removes all floor loot from the stage, the Drowner will survive but their water will disappear and they'll be left unable to dish out damage. But if the Pentagram fires and does not delete floor loot then it'll eliminate the Drowner.

In order to kill the Drowner, they need to be visible on-screen at the time the Pentagram fires. If the Pentagram fires and doesn't kill the Drowner you'll be at the mercy of the Pentagram's long Cooldown but they can still be killed as long as you don't lose sight of the blue reaper.

The Stalker

advertisem*nt

The Stalker can be killed to unlock Toastie and they spawn on Cappella Magna at the 10-minute mark. The Stalker present on Cappella Magna shows no clear differences to the Stalkers that appear in The Bone Zone or the Dairy Plant so they can be defeated by:

  • The Pentagram and its evolution, Gorgeous Moon
  • Infinite Corridor
  • Crimson Shroud
  • The Rosary (floor loot item shaped like a cross)

The Trickster

The Trickster is purple/pink and they're the only truly new Death variant present on Cappella Magna. The Trickster spawns at the 15-minute mark and like the Stalker, they will pursue you across the map but the Trickster is also capable of spawning rows of fake Experience Gems that act as land mines and explode when you walk over them.

The Trickster can be killed by Rosaries, the Pentagram, Gorgeous Moon, or Infinite Corridor. Killing the Trickster also allows you to unlock Toastie if you press the Enter key and the down arrow key when Toastie appears in the bottom right corner of your screen.

Trinacria

Last but not least, the Trinacria is a winged boss that spawns at the 25-minute mark. Trinacria is the least complex of the enemies mentioned in this guide because they have no notable special abilities. However, Trinacria cannot be frozen by the Clock Lancet and they're immune to the knockback typically provided by weapons such as the Unholy Vespers or Death Spiral.

Defeating Trinacria will complete an achievement and unlock Hyper Cappella Magna. Although another Trinacria is present in Holy Forbidden, you'll need to specifically defeat the Cappella Magna Trinacria in order to complete the achievement.
