How to Unlock Avatar Infernas in Vampire Survivors (2024)

One of the final playable characters that players will likely unlock near the end of their adventure in Vampire Survivors is Avatar Infernas, an extremely formidable vampire that offers high endgame-scaling for difficult Stages. More specifically, Avatar can indefinitely gain Might, Curse, MoveSpeed, and Cooldown reduction without a cap. Furthermore, this character starts every Stage with increased max HP, Might, Luck, Magnet, Reroll, and a bonus Revival. If players want to clear some of the more challenging stages on extreme difficulty modes, then Avatar is one of the best choices for the job.

To unlock Avatar Infernas, players must first beat the Directer in Vampire Survivors, the game's final boss in Eudaimonia Machine. Once this enemy has been defeated, survivors will receive a hint that reads, "It is tangible only in the inverted Inlaid Library. Good friends might then show the way." The "inverted Inlaid Library" refers to Inlaid Library's Inverse Mode, a game mode accessible with Gracia's Mirror Relic that players received earlier in Eudaimonia M. However, entering the inverted Inlaid Library is only the first step in a challenging procedure to unlocking Avatar.

Wing Weapons Of Choice

After entering Inlaid Library on Inverse Mode, the next step to unlocking Avatar is obtaining Peachone and Ebony Wings, the two starting weapons of Exdash and Toastie in Vampire Survivors. Once these two weapons have been acquired, players must travel west in the library.

Based on gameplay footage by LaHulyo on YouTube, survivors will eventually encounter the Trickster, a Purple form of Death, sitting in front of a piano. Slay this enemy to interact with the piano and begin an odd puzzle sequence with Peachone and Ebony Wings.

The two weapon birds will fly onto the keys of the piano, indicating which ones players should press. According to the Vampire Survivors Wiki, the sequence will always be "2W 6W 5B 5W 1B," in which W is white and B is black. After completing this puzzle, the library suddenly becomes dim as red-eyed heads spawn from the darkness and chase the player protagonist. During this time, players must explore the darkness in search of nine coffins in Vampire Survivors.

Once all nine have been found, the room will gradually become brighter, followed by Avatar spawning as the final boss. Accordingly, survivors must defeat Avatar to unlock him as a playable character in Vampire Survivors. After watching the fireworks cutscene of Avatar joining the Survivors, a white reaper will come to slay the player protagonist, enabling them to return to the Character Selection screen and play as their new character.

Fire and Death

One of the better parts of playing the Avatar Infernas is starting with the Flames of Misspell weapon, which like most weapons can be combined with another weapon to evolve in Vampire Survivors. This weapon emits a powerful flame in front of the player to clear the way as players move.

One of Avatar's perks is the Cooldown reduction, which can make the flame burst near constant. Fully evolved and paired with a Fully evolved Torrana's Box, you can create Ashes of Muspell, a powerful AOE worth the trouble it takes to get it.

Ashes of Muspell throws a flame before and behind the player, and it grows in damage without cap by 1 for every 5000 enemies killed. The damage is significantly higher, with a bigger AOE and a lower cooldown.

Paired with the same Avatar abilities, this weapon can get you through some of the harder stages in Vampire Survivors. Similarly, by pairing the Avatar with weapons normally too slow to be effective, like the Lightning Ring, you can reduce the cooldown indefinitely and make it a super weapon capable of clearing the area easily.

One of the downsides of Avatar is that his movement speed can increase so much that it becomes hard to control him at higher levels. However, you can make him virtually invincible using the Clock Lancet or the Laurel because the Cooldown reduction means either will always be active. This makes Avatar Infernas one of the best characters to unlock in Vampire Survivors.
